Family Violence Support

Family violence can affect anyone.

It can impact your safety, wellbeing, independence, and finances. It may also make it harder to communicate safely or manage bills and payments.

We are here to support people affected by family violence with care, respect, and understanding.

What is family violence?

Family violence is when someone in your family uses behaviour to control, frighten or harm you. This behaviour may be physical, emotional, financial, or social, and it can happen once or over a period of time.

Family violence can include physical or sexual harm, ongoing criticism or threats, controlling money or work, damaging property, isolating someone from family or friends, or limiting their freedom.

Children can also be affected by family violence, including by seeing or hearing these behaviours.

You do not need to provide proof of family violence to talk to us about support. If any of this feels familiar, help is available.
