Craig is an accomplished insurance executive with extensive international experience across underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and insurance leadership in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

As Executive Chairman of GARD Insurance Pty Ltd, Craig focuses on business growth through mergers and acquisitions, start-ups, and the development of niche specialty products. He leads operational strategy, supports the development of underwriting talent, and ensures initiatives are commercially sound and sustainable.

Prior to GARD, Craig was General Manager of Austagencies, the underwriting arm of listed broker Austbrokers (now AUB). During this time, he established AustRe, the group's reinsurance vehicle, and led the rebranding of Austagencies to SURA, growing the business into one of Australia's largest managing general agents.

Darren has more than 40 years of experience in the Australian insurance market, having held senior executive roles with major national insurers including IAG, Suncorp and their predecessor organisations.

Before joining GARD in January 2025, Darren was Group Chief Underwriting Officer at Insurance Australia Group. His career spans both Commercial and Personal lines, across intermediated and direct distribution channels.

Darren brings strong experience in underwriting leadership, strategy development and delivery, governance and risk management, portfolio oversight, and stakeholder engagement, supporting sustainable and well-managed growth.

Lucy has over 25 years of national and international underwriting experience, with senior roles across large corporate insurers, Lloyd's syndicates, and managing general agents in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia.

Her career includes underwriting, business development, and portfolio management roles, with previous experience as a Senior Commercial Property Underwriter. She is known for balancing sound underwriting practice with commercial and strategic thinking.

As Chief Underwriting Officer – Specialty, Lucy brings a broad market view and a disciplined underwriting approach, supporting sustainable growth and effective risk management.

Greg has worked in the insurance industry for more than 40 years, with underwriting expertise across multiple product lines, and senior positions with major Australian insurers and international reinsurance companies.

In recent years, Greg has moved into the underwriting agency sector and now forms part of the GARD team. He brings a practical, well rounded understanding of insurance operations, underwriting, and risk placement.

John has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on technical and complex claims, including matters involving litigation.

Throughout his career, John has held senior roles across casualty and commercial property claims, claims litigation, operational management, policy interpretation, negotiation and mediation, conflict resolution, complaint management, and broker and client liaison.

John manages all claims for GARD and its associated businesses, applying sound judgement, clear communication, and a consistent disciplined approach to claims management.
